Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

TO PROMOTE STABLE AND SUSTAINABLE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, DESIGNED TO REDUCE ISOLATION, AND DEVELOP SKILLS TO LIVE INTERDEPENDENTLY IN A COMMUNITY SETTING.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

ICW CONTINUES TO BE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AN ENHANCED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN THE ANN ARBOR AREA. WE HAVE ADDED MORE IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING MANY OUTDOORS, WHILE CONTINUING SOME VIRTUAL OFFERINGS. WE ATTENDED OUR FIRST DETROIT TIGERS GAME SINCE BEFORE THE PANDEMIC AND CONTINUED WITH OUR PROJECT GROW GARDENING, HOWELL NATURE CENTER DAY TRIP, ADAPTIVE KAYAKING AT GALLUP PARK, SNOWSHOEING, AND A FALL COLOR TOUR TRAIN RIDE. LAST YEAR'S ADDITION OF NON-RESIDENT AND SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP LEVELS HAS SUCCESSFULLY ALLOWED MORE INTELLECTUALLY AND DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS TO EXPERIENCE THE BENEFITS OF OUR ORGANIZATION WHILE STILL LIVING WITH THEIR NUCLEAR FAMILIES. THIS ALSO GIVES THESE INDIVIDUALS (AND FAMILIES) MORE INSIGHT IN WHAT IT MIGHT BE LIKE TO LIVE MORE INDEPENDENTLY. THE BIGGEST LOGISTICAL CHANGE FOR THE ORGANIZATION WAS THE GROWTH INTO OUR NEW OFFICE AND ACTIVITY SPACE. THE ADDED INDOOR SPACE NEAR OUR MEMBERS HAS ALLOWED US TO ENHANCE OUR INDOOR ACTIVITIES SUCH AS YOGA AND OTHER EXERCISE OPTIONS, MOVIE NIGHT, AND IN-PERSON 'I LOVE ART', WHILE PROVIDING OFFICE SPACE FOR OUR PART-TIME PROGRAM MANAGER, AND MEETING SPACE FOR FAMILIES, COMMITTEES, AND THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. FINALLY, ICW IS PROUD TO CONTINUE OUR FOUNDING PRINCIPLE TO SUPPORT PEER AND COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR SMALL GROUPS OF RESIDENT MEMBERS, EACH OF WHICH IS LED BY A COMMUNITY BUILDER AND MEETS EVERY MONDAY FOR DINNER AND SOCIALIZING.
