THE CORPORATION IS ORGANIZED AND WILL BE OPERATED AT ALL TIMES EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE BENEFIT OF GROWTH ORGANIZATION OF TOPEKA/SHAWNEE COUNTY, INC. ("MEMBER OR "GO TOPEKA") A KANSAS NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION THAT IS AN ORGANIZATION DESCRIBED IN SECTION 501(C)(6) AND SECTION 509(A)(2), AS IT APPLIES TO SECTION 509(A)(3)(A), OF THE CODE. THE CORPORATION'S ACTIVITIES IN SUPPORT AND FOR THE BENEFIT OF GO TOPEKA WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE ACQUISITION, OWNERSHIP, DEVELOPMENT, OPERATION, AND LEASING OF THE EAST TOPEKA LEARNING CENTER TO ADVANCE GO TOPEKA'S TAX-EXEMPT PURPOSES.

THE LEARNING CENTER IS A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY, WASHBURN UNIVERSITY, AND WASHBURN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (WASHBURN TECH). WASHBURN TECH WORKS WITH THE COMMUNITY AND BUSINESSES TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO SUPPORT BUSINESS GROWTH AND THE EDUCATIONAL AND CAREER NEEDS OF OUR CITIZENS IDENTIFYING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NEW DEGREE PROGRAMS AND CURRICULA WHILE SUPPORTING WORKFORCE NEEDS OF EMPLOYERS.
