VETS2SET IS ORGANIZED TO FACILITATE THE SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION OF VETERANS FROM ACTIVE MILITARY SERVICE TO CIVILIAN EMPLOYMENT IN THE MEDIA PRODUCTION INDUSTRY. VETS2SET PROVIDES VETERANS WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS AS PRODUCTION ASSISTANTS IN AN INDUSTRY WHICH IS KNOWN FOR ITS DIFFICULT BARRIERS OF ENTRY AND DEVELOP SKILLS NECESSARY TO PURSUE A SUCCESSFUL CAREER. VETS2SET STARTED IN 2019 WITH THE PUBLIC LAUNCH OF THE PROGRAM OCCURRING IN NOVEMBER 2019. AS OF MARCH 2024, THERE ARE MORE THAN 835 VETERANS IN 48 STATES REGISTERED AND MORE THAN 343 EMPLOYERS IN 29 STATES. THE PROGRAM WORKS BY ENROLLING INTERESTED VETERANS IN THE VETS2SET DATABASE. MILITARY CREDENTIALS ARE VALIDATED BY VETS2SET AND THEN THE VETERANS' CONTACT INFORMATION AND SPECIAL INTERESTS BECOME SEARCHABLE BY PARTICIPATING EMPLOYERS. EMPLOYERS COMMITTED TO HIRING TWO VETERANS FOR THEIR PRODUCTIONS SEARCH THE DATABASE BY ZIP CODE TO FIND APPROPRIATE STAFF FOR SHOOTS WHEREVER SHOOTS TAKE PLACE. PRODUCTION SUPPLIERS HIRE AND PAY THE VETERANS DIRECTLY. NO FEES ARE PAID TO VETS2SET BY VETERANS OR EMPLOYERS.
