THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF SOUTHBAY YOUTH MARITIME FOUNDATION IS TO SUPPORT SEA SCOUTS AND MARINER SCOUTS PROGRAMS, PRIMARILY IN THE GREATER SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA AND DELTA, TO PROMOTE MARITIME YOUTH ACTIVITIES, TO PROMOTE THE CORE VALUES OF THE SCOUTS, AND TO SUPPORT YOUNG ADULTS SEEKING POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION IN MARITIME TRADES.

OPERATED AND SUPPORTED THE SEA SCOUT SHIP TERRAPIN WHICH PROVIDED APPROXIMATELY 10 SEA SCOUTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENHANCE THEIR MARITIME EDUCATION, ENGAGE IN MARITIME ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOP WITH THE CORE VALUES OF SCOUTING


HOSTED TWO REGION-WIDE SEA SCOUT COMPETITIONS DRAWING 200-400 PARTICIPANTS IN ORDER TO PROMOTE YOUTH MARITIME ACTIVITIES AND ENABLE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF MARITIME SKILLS IN A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE ENVIRONMENT.
