THE MISSION OF THE FRIENDS OF THE CONCORD - LAKE SUNAPEE RAIL TRAIL IS TO BUILD AND MAINTAIN A 34 MILE MULTI-USE TRAIL THROUGH THE NEW HAMPSHIRE MUNICIPALITIES OF CONCORD, HOPKINTON, WARNER, SUTTON, BRADFORD AND NEWBURY.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

PHASE 2 OF THE CARTER HILL TO FISHERVILLE PROJECT IN CONCORD: WE IMPROVED 1,545 FEET OF TRAIL WHICH CONSISTED OF REMOVING ORGANIC MATERIAL, INSTALLING 900 FEET OF COARSE GRAVEL AND GEO-MAT, THEN INSTALLING AND COMPACTING BANK RUN GRAVEL, FINISHING BY INSTALLING AND COMPACTING STONE DUST AND GRADING AND SHAPING THE SHOULDERS.

PHASE 3 OF THE CARTER HILL TO FISHERVILLE PROJECT IN CONCORD: IN 2021 WE REMOVED ORGANIC MATERIAL ON A 2,066 FOOT SECTION OF TRAIL AND BROUGHT IN AND COMPACTED BANK RUN GRAVEL. WE ANTICIPATE COMPLETING THIS PHASE OF THE PROJECT WITH COMPACTED STONEDUST IN 2022.

COVERED BIKE PARKING: WE BUILT A COVERED BICYCLE PARKING FACILITY ON A PORTABLE BASE SO WE COULD BRING IT TO VARIOUS VENUES AS A CONVERSATION STARTER. WE PROVIDED MEANS FOR THE PUBLIC TO TELL US IF THEY WOULD BIKE TO THE LOCATION IF GOOD PERMANENT BICYCLE PARKING WAS AVAILABLE AT THE SITE. WE ALSO SOLICITED FEEDBACK ON WHERE BIKE PARKING WAS NEEDED WITHIN THE COMMUNITY. IN 2021 WE PLACED THIS FACILITY AT THE NH STATEHOUSE PLAZA, NH DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION HEADQUARTERS, A SHOPPING PLAZA IN DOWNTOWN CONCORD, NH AND AT THE LIBRARY IN NEW LONDON, NH. THE COST OF BUILDING THIS FACILITY WAS CAPITALIZED.
