TEA OPERATIONS:MCOT IS LOCATED SQUARELY WITHIN ORANGE MOUND AND ITS TEA OPERATION GIVES THE WOMEN OF ORANGE MOUND VALUABLE TRAINING IN ALL ASPECTS OF THE TEA OPERATION. FROM BUILDING SHIPPING CONTAINERS FROM SCRATCH, TO IDENTIFYING, SORTING AND PACKAGING THE TEA, THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES FOR EACH WOMAN, NO MATTER HER INITIAL SKILL LEVEL. THIS VOCATIONAL, HANDS-ON TRAINING ALSO INCLUDES ELEMENTS OF COMPUTER LITERACY, FINANCIAL PLANNING/BUDGETING, GED PREPARATION AND IN MANY INSTANCES, LIFE RECOVERY. TO DATE, OVER 25 WOMEN HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED VARIOUS CLASSES. THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF MCOT IS TO EQUIP THE UNDER-SERVED WOMEN OF ORANGE MOUND WITH LIFE SKILLS THAT LEAD TO FULL-TIME, GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT.
