THE SHELTER CREEK PROPERTY WILL BE USED TO HOUSE STAFF IN A SAFE SETTING AS WELL AS OUR GUESTS TRAVELING TO VISIT SHELTER CREEK AND ITS PROGRAMS. IN ADDITION TO THESE STRUCTURES WILL BE NOURI FRUIT FARM, BETTY'S HOUSE OF HOPE (FOR WIDOWS AND ORPHANS), HOPE HEALTH MEDICAL CENTER, ASPIRE LEARNING CENTER (WHICH HELPS ADULT LEARNERS ACHIEVE THEIR EDUCATIONAL DREAMS), THE NOWAK FAMILY COMMUNITY GARDEN (SECOND COMMUNITY GARDEN WITHIN THE SPROUT PROGRAM AND GENEROUSLY DONATED BY THE NOWAK FAMILY AND AGAPE PHYSICAL THERAPY), AN ARTISAN MARKETPLACE, AND SO MUCH MORE.THE SPROUT COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED IN 2020 AND IS LOCATED IN THE COMMUNITY OF SAPATERRE WITHIN THE CENTRAL PLATEAU OF HAITI. SINCE ITS INCEPTION, MULTIPLE FAMILIES HAVE BEEN AFFORDED NUTRITIOUS FOOD AS WELL AS TRAINING IN GROWING PERSONAL GARDENS AND THE PROPER MANAGEMENT OF GROWING FRUIT TREES. THROUGH A GENEROUS DONATION, TDRP WILL SOON BE DEVELOPING ITS SECOND COMMUNITY GARDEN ON THE PROPERTY PURCHASED IN BEROU. THE NOWAK FAMILY COMMUNITY GARDEN WILL ASSIST WITH ELIMINATING FOOD SCARCITY THROUGH THE AVAILABILITY OF NUTRITIOUS FOODS AS WELL AS EMPLOYMENT WITH TDRP.THE VILLAGE OF HOPE PROGRAM ASSISTS FAMILIES WITH THE ABILITY TO LIVE AND THRIVE IN A SAFE HOUSING ENVIRONMENT. TO DATE, TDRP HAS BUILT TWO HOMES AND IS IN THE PROCESS OF RENOVATING A HOME IN THE TOWNSHIP OF HINCHE. THIS RENOVATION WILL ENABLE THE PRESIDENT OF OUR HAITIAN BOARD OF DIRECTORS TO BE REUNITED WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE LIVED EIGHT HOURS AWAY FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.IN ADDITION, THE BRIDGE PROGRAM BRINGS ENGLISH TO THE COMMUNITY OF NAN CITRON. OPENING THE DOORS TO YOUNG ADULTS LEARNING ENGLISH PROVIDES FURTHER ADVANCEMENT IN THEIR QUEST FOR EMPLOYMENT, OFTEN TIMES ENABLING THE STUDENT TO BREAK THE FAMILY'S CYCLE OF POVERTY. THE REACH PROGRAM IS PROVIDED AS A TUITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WITH THE FOCUS OF PROVIDING EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN IN HAITI.
