A NONPROFIT 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PALENTOLOGY AND EARTH SCIENCE RESEARCH, EDUCATION, AND OUTREACH. THE UNIVERSAL APPEAL OF DINOSAURS AND PALEONTOLOGY TO ENGAGE PEOPLE OF ALL INTEREST LEVELS AND BACKGROUNDS.

OUR BIGGEST ANNUAL PROGRAM IS THE PUBLIC SUMMER FIELD EXPEDITION; WE HOST PEOPLE FROM AROUND THE WORLD IN SOUTHERN MONTANA TO HELP US FIND AND EXCAVATE MOSTLY DINOSARUR FOSSILS. AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM, WE TEACH A 3- CREDIT COLLEGE COURSE IN THE "FIELD OF PALEONTOLOGY" THROUGH ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE LOCATED IN BILLINGS, MT. BBPI HOST HIGH SCHOOL AGE KIDS WITH INTEREST IN THE EARTH SCIENCES THROUGH A DREXE UNIVERSITY-SPONSORED PROGRAM CALLED DESLA (DREXEL ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE LEADERSHIP ACADEMY). ALL FOSSILS ARE BROUGHT BACK TO OUR FOSSILS FOSSIL PREPARATION LABORATORY AT THE ACADEMY OF NATURAL SCIENCES IN PHILADELPHIA, PA. THE FOSSILS ARE THEN PREPARED, SONSERVED, AND USED FOR EDUCATION THROUGH OUR OUTREACH PROGRAS


THE BBPI CREATES AND HOSTS A DIVERSE SLATE OF EDUCATION AND OUTREACH PROGRAMMING IN THE EARTH AND PALEONTOLOGICAL SCIENCES FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES. THESE PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED THROUGHOUT THE YEARIN THE TRI-STATE SURROUNDING PHILADELPHIA, PA, SOUTHER CENTRAL MONTANA, AND NORTH CENTRAIL WYOMING DURING THE SUMMER. MOST OF THESE PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED FREE OF CHARGE, SUPPORTED MOSTLY THROUGH REVENUE FROM THE ANNUAL SUMMER FIELD EXPEDITIONS, GRANTS, DONATIONS, AND MEMBERSHIP FEES.


THE BBPI'S PALENONTOLGISTS CONDUCT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ON THE SPECIMENS WE COLLECT DURING OUR SUMMER FIELD EXPEDITIONS. WE ALSO PROVIDE SPECIMENS AND ASSISTANCE, AND SERVE AS ADVISORS TO OTHER VISITING RESEARCHERS AND STUDENTS RESEARCHING THE SPECIMENS THAT ARE COLLECTED EACH SUMMER. THIS INCLUDES PRESENTING RESEARCH RESULTS AT PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCES EACH YEAR AND PUBLISHING THE RESULTS IN A FORMAL ACADEMIC MANUSCRIPTS. THIS WORK IS SUPPORTED BY THE ANNUAL SUMMER FIELD EXPEDITIONS, DONATIONS AND MEMBERSHIP FEES.
