HUMANE SOCIETY OF NW MT IS A NO KILL ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A CARING AND SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR DOGS AND CATS UNTIL THEY CAN BE UNITED WITH A FOREVER HOME.

THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF NORTHWEST MONTANA, HOME OF THE CHARLOTTE EDKINS ANIMAL ADOPTION CENTER, SERVES ORPHANED CATS AND DOGS AND ADHERES TO AN EARLY AGE SPAY/NEUTER PROTOCOL, PERMANENT IDENTIFICATION OF ALL PETS AND A NO-KILL ANIMAL PHILOSOPHY. THE ADOPTION CENTER CONSISTS OF 18 CAT KENNELS, THREE CAT CONDOS AND 17 DOG KENNELS. IN 2021 THE ADOPTION CENTER SERVED A TOTAL OF 401 OWNER- SURRENDER, RESCUED AND/OR ABANDONED ANIMALS MAKING SURE THAT ALL WERE EXAMINED BY A LICENSED VETERINARIAN, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, SPAYED/NEUTERED, AND MICROCHIPPED. HAPPILY, 307 ADOPTION CENTER PETS WERE ADOPTED INTO LOVING HOMES THROUGHOUT NORTHWEST MONTANA IN 2021. THROUGH ITS PET FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM, THE HUMANE SOCIETY PARTNERS WITH THE FLATHEAD FOOD BANK TO FEED HUNGRY PETS. IN 2021 THE HUMANE SOCIETY DONATED 9,611 POUNDS OF PET FOOD FOR AT-RISK COMMUNITY PETS. THE HUMANE SOCIETY ALSO HELPED 12 INJURED,AT-RISK COMMUNITY PETS RECEIVE EMERGENCY VETERINARY CARE THROUGH ITS HUMANITARIAN AID FOR PETS PROGRAM.
