TO ENHANCE THE PRESERVATION OF ANIMALS (BOTH WILD AND SOME SMAILL DOMESTIC) IN WESTERN WASHINGTON BY PROVIDING EDUCATION, REHABILITATION, PLACEMENT AND ENVIRONMENTAL ADVOCACY IN THE COMMUNITY THROUGH PEOPLE, ONE PERSON AT A TIME.

EDUCATION: WE DID EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING RAPTOR CAMP, WHICH WAS A WEEK LONG EVENT FOR TEENAGERS WHERE THEY LEARNED CONSERVATION BIOLOGY AND RAPTOR BIOLOGY. IT WAS TAUGHT BY A CERTIFIED BIOLOGY TEACHER, CRAIG MORAN, MS. IN 2021 WE RECEIVED OVER 700 CALLS FROM THE PUBLIC ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE REGARDING WILDLIFE PROBLEMS. WE TALKED THE THEM ABOUT THEIR INDIVIDUAL SITUATIONS. THE MOST STRIKING CASE WAS AN ADULT PREGNANT DOE (DEER) WHO WAS IN DYSTOCIA (STUCK BABY IN THE BIRTH CANAL) AND THERE WAS NO PROFESSIONAL VETERINARIAN OR WILDLIFE CARE CENTER TO HELP ON VASHON ISLAND, WA> OUR VET WALKED THE DEER HUNTER WHO WANTED TO SAVE THIS DOE THROUGH HOW TO GET THE DEAD FETUS OUT OF THE VAGINA WITHOUT TOUCHING THE DOE. HE FOLLOWER HER DIRECTIONS AND HE WAS ABLE TO GET THE FAWN DISLODGED. THAT DOE WAS SAVED. THEY SENT PHOTOS TWO WEEKS AFTER HE STEPPED IN TO HELP. WE ASSIST PEOPLE WITH WILDLIFE PROBLEMS, EVEN REMOTELY IN A PANDEMIC.


ANIMAL CARE: WE TOOK IN 183 CATS AND KITTENS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE LEFT IN THE WILD, WITH NO FOOD OR CARE, AND MADE THEM INSIDE PETS ONLY. WE SPENT 16 WORK DAYS IN ADMINISTRATIVE COURT OVER A REVOCATION OF OUR WILDLIFE REHABILITATION PERMIT. THE ADMINISTRATIVE COURT RULED IN OUR FAVOR AND OVERTURNED THE REVOCATION OF OUR WILDLIFE PERMIT OF NOVEMBER 6, 2018. WE ARE NOW IN PROCESS TO REESTABLISH PERMITS TO CARE FOR A WIDE RANGE OF ANIMALS IN SOUTH PUGET SOUND.
