SPAN THRIFT STORE OFFERS HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND CLOTHING AT REDUCED PRICES. WE PAY IN PART OR IN FULL OFFERING FINANCIAL AID FOR SPAYING AND NEUTEREING OWNER OWNED PETS.IN THE FISCAL YEAR, 2019-2020, WE HAD 22 MONTHLY MOBILE CLINICS BASED ON REVENUES GENERATED MONTHLY BY SALES IN THE SPAN THRIFT STORE. WE PARTNERED WITH VENTURA COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER WITH FREE SHOTS AND LICENSING CLINICS. SINCE OUR INCEPTION IN SEPTEMBER 1992, WE HAVE HELPED WITH OVER 34,315 ANIMALS.

SPAN'S MISSION IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC REGARDING PET OVER-POPULATION AND WORK IN THE COMMUNITY TO END THE CYCLE OF UNWANTED PETS, WHICH , UNFORTUNATELY, BECOME RELINQUISHED AT THE SHELTERS OF VENTURA COUNTY. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL HELP TO LOW AND NO INCOME PEOPLE TO SPAY AND NEUTER THEIR PETS.WE ALSO PAY,IN FULL, FOR FERRAL CATS TRAPPED BY VOLUNTEERS FOR SPAY AND NEUTER.WITH OUR OUTREACH PROGRAM, WE PROVIDED 34 MOBILE SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS, EACH COSTING $2000. LAST FISCAL YEAR, WE PAID, IN FULL OR IN PART, TO SPAY 922 ANIMALS.SPAN IS WORKING TOWARDS DOING 4 MOBILE SPAY AND NEUTER CLINICS A MONTH IN VENTURA COUNTY.SPAN IS NOW OFFERING TO THE VETERINARIANS WHO DO FERALS MEDICAL UP TO $200 A MONTH. IF FERAL NEEDS MEDICATION OR A SHOT FOR INFECTION, THIS WILL HELP COVER IT. AT TIMES WE ARE ABLE TO WORK WITH VETS TO REMOVE EYES, AMPUTATE LIMBS IF NECESSARY AT A VERY REDUCED RATE. WE OFFER FLEA MEDICATION AT A REDUCED RATE. WE ALSO OFFER PREMIUM DOG FOOD AT REDUCED PRICES. THESE FUNDS GO TOWARD SPAY AND NEUTER.
