THE ASSOCIATION IS A DYNAMIC PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION AND IS THE RECOGNIZED RESOURCE FOR SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS, AUDIOLOGISTS, AND CONSUMERS IN THE STATE.

THE TEXAS SPEECH-LANGUAGE-HEARING ASSOCIATION (THE ASSOCIATION) IS A MEMBERSHIP BASED ASSOCIATION FOR SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS, AUDIOLOGISTS, CONSUMERS, AND STUDENTS. MEMBERSHIP SERVICES INCLUDE UPDATING MEMBERS ON MATTERS RELATED TO SPEECH, LANGUAGE, AND HEARING ISSUES. THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES GUIDANCE ON SOCIAL AND GOVERNMENTAL POLICIES AFFECTING THE PRACTICE OF ITS MEMBERS.


THE ASSOCIATION'S CONTINUING EDUCATION AND CONVENTION COMMITTEES WORK THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PROVIDE MEMBERS WITH A CHALLENGING VARIETY OF SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS TO MAINTAIN THEIR TEXAS STATE LICENSE AND ASHA CERIFICATE OF CLINICAL COMPETENCE (CCC). EACH YEAR, THE ASSOCIATION HOSTS THE ANNUAL CONVENTION WITH OVER 4,000 PARTICIPANTS, AN AVERAGE OF 20 CE CREDTIS, AND OVER 200 VENDORS AND DEMONSTRATIONS. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO OFFERS ONLINE CE COURSES.


PUBLICATIONS PROVIDE UPDATES TO MEMBERS ON POLICIES, LAWS, PRACTICES, AND SCIENCE.THE "COMMUNICOLOGIST" IS THE OFFICIAL BI-MONTHLY E-MAGAZINE OF THE ASSOCIATION AND "TSHA TALK" IS THE BI-WEEKLY ELECTRONIC NEWSLETTER AND THEY ARE THE FORUMS FOR DISTRIBUTING CURRENT INFORMATION RELEVANT TO THE PRACTICES OF SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY AND AUDIOLOGY ACROSS THE STATE. THE E-MAGAZINE AND NEWSLETTER PROVIDE THE ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP WITH THE LATEST NEWS FROM THE EXECUTIVE BOARD AND TASK FORCES, AS WELL AS INFORMATION ABOUT REGIONAL ASSOCIATIONS, DISTINGUISHED SERVICE PROVIDERS, THE ASSOCIATION ANNUAL CONVENTION, COMMITTEE HONORS AND MONINATIONS.
