BACK TO SCHOOL BONANZA - DAY OF BACK TO SCHOOL READINESS, WHICH INCLUDES QUALIFIED RECIPIENTS RECEIVING BACKPACKS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, UNIFORMS,HAIR CUTS,A HEALTH KIT AND DENTAL SCREENING. WE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 3,000 ANGELINA COUNTY CHILDREN.
CAMP GET FIT/KIDS IN THE KITCHEN IS HELD DURING THE SUMMER FOR KIDS ENTERING GRADES 3-5. CAMPERS PARTICIPATE IN COOKING, EXERCISE, AND HEALTH AWARENESS WITH A FOCUS ON THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING LIFELONG HEALTHY CHOICES.
POVERTY SIMULATION & AWARENESS-ROLE-PLAYING SIMULATION OF LIVING IN THE LIFE OF A LOW-INCOME FAMILY TO BRING AWARENESS TO ISSUES FACING THE CITY'S MOST VULNERABLE FAMILIES THAT LEADS TO A CHANGE OF HEART AND A CHANGE IN MINDSET ABOUT PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY
