THE MAIN PURPOSE OF OUR ORGANIZATION IS TO CERTIFY AND TRAIN ADJUDICATORS FOR THE UIL MUSIC CONTESTS/EVALUATIONS HELD THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE IS ALSO VERY ACTIVE IN SETTING GUIDELINES AND STANDARDS FOR THESE CONTESTS/EVALUATIONS. WE HAVE ALMOST 1,600 MEMBERS IN THE ORGANIZATION AND THERE ARE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS THEY MUST MEET TO REMAIN EITHER A PROVISIONAL OR ACTIVE MEMBER. OUR ORGANIZATION HAS AN APPLICATION PROCESS WHERE DIRECTORS APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO OFFERS JUDGING WORKSHOPS FOR ALL FOUR DIVISIONS (CONCERT BAND, MARCHING BAND, VOCAL AND ORCHESTRA) AT THE TMEA CONVENTION AND THE SUMMER CONVENTIONS EVERY YEAR. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE OCCASIONAL SATELLITE WORKSHOPS PRESENTED ACROSS THE STATE AS THEY ARE REQUESTED. MEMBERS MUST ATTEND A JUDGING WORKSHOP ONCE EVERY FOUR YEARS TO MAINTAIN MEMBERSHIP. AT EACH CONVENTION, WE PROBABLY HAVE 300-400 DIRECTORS ATTEND THE WORKSHOPS OFFERED (NON-MEMBERS CAN ALSO ATTEND).
