SOONER JUNIOR MINIATURE GOLF COURSE SERVES AS THE PRIMARY FUNDRAISER AND PROVIDES AFFORDABLE ENTERTAINMENT FOR OVER 6,000 COMMUNITY MEMBERS EACH YEAR. THE COURSE IS A CITY ASSET BUT WE MAINTAIN IT. A PORTION OF THE FUNDS RAISED IS USED FOR FACILITY MAINTENANCE: $14,998 INCLUDES A NEW CLUBHOUSE ROOF, NEW PAINT, NEW ELECTRICAL WIRING THROUGHOUT THE COURSE, LAWN CARE, UTILITIES. COURSE OPERATIONS CONTRIBUTED $12,000 TO OUR SCHOLARSHIP AND GRANT BUDGET. OUR CLUB AWARDS 5 - $1,000 SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS, 5 - $100 SOPHOMORE SCHOLARSHIPS, 4 - $50 8TH GRADE AWARDS, AND 2-$500 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS ATTENDING TRI-COUNTY TECH. WE AWARDED $6,900 IN GRANTS TO LOCAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS WHO DIRECTLY SUPPORT SEVERAL HUNDRED CHILDREN. WE SHARED $2,920 WITH LOCAL, DISTRICT, AND KIWANIS CHILDREN'S FUNDS. OUR ANNUAL FISHING DERBY SERVED 75 CHILDREN. OUR 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION SERVED THOUSANDS OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS, AS DID OUR CHRISTMAS PARADE. WE DO RAISE FUNDS FOR EXPENSES, BUT DO NOT BREAK EVEN. OUR CELEBRATE GIVING EVENT SHOWCASES LOCAL NON-PROFITS IN AN EFFORT TO GENERATE SUPPORT FOR THEM. CASH PRIZES WERE AWARDED TO RAY OF HOPE, DYNAMIC INDEPENDENCE, BARTLESVILLE PLAYGROUND ASSOCIATION, SALVATION ARMY, ELDERCARE, SAMARITAN COUNSELING, YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES, ON THE ROCK MINISTRIES, JANE PHILLIPS SOCIETY, FRESH START, MARTHA'S TASK, AD LIBS, HOPE CLINIC, THE JOURNEY HOME, CASA HISPANA, AND SAFE NOW.
