OPERATIONS OF THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM ARE DEDICATED TO THE HISTORY OF EDMOND, OKLAHOMA. EXHIBITS AND SPECIAL EVENTS ARE HOSTED PROMOTING THE AWARENESS OF THE HISTORY OF THE CITY.

THE PURPOSE OF THE EDMOND HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND MUSEUM IS TO HOUSE A MUSEUM IN ORDER TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF EDMOND AND PROVIDE PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES. THE EDMOND HISTORICAL SOCIETY WAS FORMED WITH A MISSION TO ESTABLISH A MUSEUM AS A MEANS TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY OF EDMOND BY COLLECTING ARTIFACTS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND DOCUMENTS; TO MAKE THE COLLECTION AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC THROUGH EXHIBITION, PUBLICATION, AND OTHER PROGRAMMING; TO ENCOURAGE AN AWARENESS OF EDMOND'S HERITAGE THROUGH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND RECOGNITION OF OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY; AND TO OWN REAL AND PERSONAL PROPERTY.
