USING THE ARTS AS A BRIDGE, WE CONNECT YOUTH AND PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS WITH RESOURCES TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL. PLATTEFORUM PROVIDES YOUTH THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP PERSONAL, ACADEMIC, LEADERSHIP AND LIFE SKILLS, RECEIVE CRITICAL FEEDBACK AND LEARN TO WORK AS PART OF A TEAM. OUR COLLABORATION WITH ARTISTS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS HELP INFORM YOUTH ON THE IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO BECOME A FORCE FOR GOOD WITHIN THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES. INFORMATIVE AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES LIKE FIELD-TRIPS AND PARTICIPATION IN A VARIETY OF EVENTS HELP TO REMOVE EXACERBATING ROADBLOCKS TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS AND GRADUATION, SUCH AS: HUNGER, LACK OF TECHNOLOGY ACCESS, LIMITED ACCESS TO TUTORING AND MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT, HOMELESSNESS, AND LACK OF PARENTAL SUPPORT.
