TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP. TO PROMOTE HUMANE TREATMENT OF LABRADOR RETRIEVERS, AND TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERSHIP.

IN 2023 GOLDEN GATE LABRADOR RETRIEVER RESCUE HELPED REHOME OVER 175 LABS AND LAB MIXES. WE RESCUE THESE DOGS FROM SHELTERS AND HELP TAKE IN THE DOGS FROM THEIR OWNERS. WE HAVE OVER 325 VOLUNTEERS AROUND THE SAN FRANCISCO BY AREA AND WE HOLD WORKSHOPS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ON SPAY AND NEUTER AND PROPER DOG OWNERSHIP. DURING 2023 WE HELD OVER 6 IN PERSON PET FAIRS AND 5 VIRTUAL ZOOM PET FAIRS.WE STARTED A NEW PROGRAM FOR GGLRR:1) ADVANCED TRAINING FOR OUR FOSTERS AND ADOPTERS TO HELP THEM WITH ANY POSSIBLE ISSUES WITH THEIR FOSTER OR ADOPTED DOGS. THESE WORKSHOPS ARE HELD ALL OVER THE BAY AREA AND HAVE BEEN ATTENDED BY OVER 300 INDIVIDUALS. NORTH BAY, EAST BAY AND SOUTH BAY A. WE HELD 3 WORKSHOPS AND HAD OVER 150 PEOPLE COME TO GET HELP WITH THEIR ADOPTED DOGS FROM GGLRR AND VOLUNTEERS CAME TO IMPROVE THEIR KNOWLEDGE TO HELP THE GGLRR FOSTER DOGS. 2) WE ARE WORKING ON LAUNCHING A YOUTH PROGRAM TO HELP TEACH CHILDREN ABOUT THE PROPER DOG OWNERSHIP AND THEY WILL BE ADOPTING A STUFFED LAB FOR A WEEK AND WILL NEED TO CARE FOR THE LAB. THEY WILL REPORT BACK TO THE PROGRAM LEADS.3) WE ARE WORKING ON A SPAY AND NEUTER PROGRAM WHERE PEOPLE CAN APPLY WHO CANT AFFORD TO GET THEIR DOG FIXED.
