TO ACQUIRE AND MAINTAIN LAND FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE LAND RESOURCES BY WORKING WITH OTHER LOCAL CONSERVATION ORGANIZATIONS ON COMMUNITY PROJECTS, AND ACQUIRING STATE, FEDERAL AND FOUNDATION FUNDS FOR ACQUISITION OR CONSERVATION EASEMENTS, AND PARTNERING WITH OTHER LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS WITH A CONSERVATION FOCUS. ONE MAJOR PROGRAM FOCUSES ON THE PROTECTION OF SHORELINE WETLANDS OF CLEARLAKE IN PARTNERTSHIP WITH THE CALIFORNIA STATE DEPARTMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE. THE ACQUISITIONS INCLUDE OPEN SPACE IN MIDDLETOWN, CA, WETLAND PROPERTIES IN UPPER LAKE, CA, AND LAKEPORT, CA, AS WELL AS 3 CONSERVATION EASEMENTS.
