THE CRISIS CENTER OF RUSSELL COUNTY WAS ORGANIZED TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE AND TEMPORARY HOUSING TO VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE THROUGH SECURED TEMPORARY HOUSING AND EDUCATION WITH JOB PLACEMENT TO TRANSITION THEM BACK INTO SOCIETY.

DURING THE CURRENT YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION HOUSED WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHILE TRANSITIONING THEM TO SAFE HOUSES AND FINDING SUITABLE EMPLOYMENT TO MAKE THEM SELF SUFFICIENT. IN SOME CASES, MANY WERE ASSISTED IN OBTAINING RESTRAINING ORDERS AND IN COURT PROCEEDINGS. IN ADDITION, THEY PROVIDE A PREVENTION PROGRAM TO MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH ADDITIONAL SUPPORT GROUPS FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT.
