OUR GUILD HAS MANY ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR. ON A MONTHLY BASIS WE HAVE OUR CHAIRMAN REPORTS, CLASSES FOR EDUCATION, DRAWINGS, CONTESTS, 50 /50 DRAWING, LENDING LIBRARY, SHOW AND TELL, AND SALES OF TICKETS FOR OUR OPPORTUNITY QUILT.OTHER ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR INCLUDE OUR CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON, QUILT RETREAT, FIELD TRIPS, FABRIC EXCHANGES, LECTURES, TRUNK SHOWS, CLASSES, CHARITY WORKSHOPS AND MONTHLY WORKSH0PS TO MAKE QUILTS FOR VETERANS. WE HAVE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN INSTRUCTORS COME TO LECTURE AND TEACH SO THAT WE MAY CONTINUE TO EDUCATE, GROW AND FLOURISH.OUR MAJOR FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR IS THE LA TI DAH LUNCHEON. IT CONSISTS OF A CATERED LUNCH, FASION SHOW, QUILT SHOW & TELL, SILENT AUCTION, BASKETMANIA, BOUTIQUE, HAND-CRAFTED GREETING CARDS, QUILT CHALLENGE EVENT, AND DOOR PRIZES. AT THE END OF THE LUNCHEON THE DRAWING IS HELD FOR OUR OPPORTUNITY (DONATION) QUILT. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE QUILT TICKETS ARE DONATED TO THE LOCAL CHARITY WE HAVE CHOSEN FOR THE YEAR. OUR PROCEEDS GO TO CHRISTIAN CARE CENTER THIS YEAR.THROUGHOUT THE YEAR WE DONATE OUR CHARITY QUILTS LOCALLY AND WHEREVER THERE MIGHT BE A NEED. WE DONATED OVER 350 QUILTS THIS YEAR TO THE LEESBURG FOOD BANK, HEAD START, CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY, FORWARD PATHS, LEESBURG HOSPITAL, GUARDIAN AD LITEM, ADVENT HEALTH WATERMAN FOUNDATION, SHERIFFS VICTIMS ADVOCATE, LAKE/SUMTER FAMILIES, AND UF HEALTH FOUNDATION.WE PRESENTED OVER 15 QUILTS OF VALOR TO HONOR OUR LOCAL VETERANS. A QUILT OF VALOR IS A CITIZENS' EQUIVALENT OF A PURPLE HEART.WE ALWAYS GIVE A GENEROUS DONATION OF CASH AND CANNED GOODS TO THE LEESBURG FOOD BANK. THIS YEAR WE HAVE ALSO GIVEN TO LAKE/SUMTER CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY. OVER THE PAST 20 YEARS WE HAVE CONTINUED TO GROW INTO A GUILD THAT IS CURRENTLY ACTIVE IN SUPPORTING OVER 15 CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS.
