GAINESVILLE CHARITABLE FOUNDATION IS A CHARITABLE FOUNDATION WHOSE PURPOSE IS TO AID EFFORTS TOWARD THE PREVENTION AND AMELIORATION OF INFIRMITIES OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS RESULTING FROM CRIPPLING, DISABILITY OR BURNS; TOGETHER WITH GENERALLY CHARITABLE ENDEAVORS OF A SCIENTIFIC, MEDICAL OR EDUCATIONAL NATURE, TO FOSTER YOUTH PROGRAMS, COMMUNITY CHARITY, SCHOLARSHIPS, AND OTHER PURPOSES AND QUALIFIED ACTIVITIES.

IDENTIFICATION INFORMATION IS COLLECTED AND ELECTRONICALLY STORED SO THAT AGENCIES CAN HAVE IT AVAILABLE SHOULD A CHILD BE LOST OR ABDUCTED. GCF PROVIDES SUPPLIES, CD STORAGE, COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND PAPER. BOY SCOUTS PROVIDES RECREATION AND TRAINING TO ALL INTERESTED YOUNG BOYS. OTHER LOCAL CHARITABLE ENDEAVORS SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION TO CASH GRANTS, OFFICE SPACE WAS PROVIDED WITHOUT CHARGE TO THE BOY SCOUTS AND TO THE MASONIC CHILD ID PROGRAM WITH FAIR MARKET VALUE IN EXCESS OF THE COST. THESE NON-CASH CONTRIBUTIONS OF 21,600 ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE GRANT AMOUNTS LISTED.
SUPPORTING COMMUNITY CHARITIES IN THE NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA AREA
ALACHUA COUNTY SCHOOLS WERE GIVEN CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS AND MONETARY GRANTS TO DISTRIBUTE SCHOLARSHIPS TO DESERVING STUDENTS. THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA AND SANTA FE COLLEGE GRANTS PROVIDE SCHOLARSHIP SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS.
THE MOROCCO SHRINE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL TRANSPORTATION FUND WAS SUPPORTED BY A MONETARY GRANT SO THAT BURNED OR CRIPPLED CHILDREN IN NEED WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO THE MEDICAL FACILITIES WHICH SPECIALIZE IN CHILDREN'S CARE. STOP CHILDREN'S CANCER, THE SCOTTISH RITE FOUNDATION, THE SEBASTIAN FERRERO FOUNDATION, AND OTHER 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS ARE SUPPORTED TO HELP PROVIDE SERVICES TO CHILDREN WITH MEDICAL PROBLEMS.
