TO ADVANCE THE CIVIC AND EDUCATIONAL WELFARE OF WINTER PARK AND SURROUNDING AREAS; ALSO TO PRESERVE THE HISTORY AND PREMISES OF THE WOMAN'S CLUB OF WINTER PARK FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE WOMAN'S CLUB CONDUCTED APPROXIMATELY 30 WEEKLY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR MEMBERS AND THE PUBLIC FROM OCTOBER THROUGH APRIL. WE ALSO HELD FUNDRAISERS TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL CHARITIES. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS WE WERE UNABLE TO HAVE OUR ANNUAL RUMMAGE SALE, OUR LARGEST FUNDRAISING EVENT. INSTEAD, WE RECEIVED DONATIONS FROM MAKING MASKS FOR THE COMMUNITY AND ONLINE AUCTIONS. WE GAVE GRANTS TO FIVE ORGANIZATIONS AND PROVIDED IN-KIND GIFTS TO SEVERAL CHARITIES THAT SERVE THE AREA'S HOMELESS POPULATION. OUR HISTORIC CLUBHOUSE, BUILT IN 1921 AND LISTED ON THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL REGISTER, IS USED FOR COMMUNITY AND RENTAL EVENTS. WE CONTINUE OUR RENOVATION PROJECT TO PRESERVE THE BUILDING FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS. A PARTNERSHIP WITH CENTRAL FLORIDA VOCAL ARTS ALLOWS THEM TO USE THE BUILDING FOR REHEARSALS DURING THE WEEK AT NO CHANGE. WE ALSO MAINTAIN ARCHIVES FOR PEOPLE WHO WISH TO RESEARCH THE HISTORY OF THE WOMAN'S CLUB AND THE MANY WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN PART OF IT OVER THE YEARS.
