Part 3
WE PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN AN EXCELLENT FLYING FIELD (LEASED) FOR RADIO CONTROL AND CONTROL LINE MODEL AIRPLANE FLYING. WE HOSTED THE 2022 SOUTHEASTERN MODEL SHOW THIS YEAR. THIS ANNUAL EVENT IS OUR PRIMARY SOURCE FOR FUNDING OUR CLUB AND MAINTAINING OUR FLYING FIELD. WE ASSIST NEW MODELERS IN LEARNING TO FLY, HOPEFULLY WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THEIR MODELS. NO MEMBER OR OFFICER IS PAID OR RECEIVES BENEFITS FOR THEIR EFFORTS. ALL FUNDS COLLECTED ARE USED FOR THE ABOVE PURPOSES. ADDITIONALLY, WE MADE SUBSTANTIAL IMPROVEMENTS TO OUR FLYING FIELD THIS YEAR IN THE FORM OF A NEW 270 FT X 30 FT GEOTEXTILE RUNWAY AS WELL AS ADDED UPGRADED LIGHTING AND POWER SYSTEMS TO AND IN OUR CLUB FACILITIES.
