SEMINARS- LAWYERS ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE CONTINUING EDUCATION EACH YEAR. WE PROVIDE SEMINARS TO HELP THEM FULFILL THEIR OBLIGATIONS. THE SEMINARS ARE DESIGNED FOR CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEYS. GACDL HOSTED 6 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020-2021.
MEMBERSHIP DUES- MEMBERS PAY DUES TO RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING: ISSUES OF WHATS THE DECISION, WHICH HIGHLIGHT RECENT GEORGIA AND FEDERAL COURT DECISIONS; MEMBER NEWSLETTER, THE GEORGIA DEFENDER, WITH ARTICLES OF INTEREST ABOUT CRIMINAL DEFENSE ISSUES; ACCESS TO THE GACDL LISTSERV, WHERE MORE THAN 1000 MEMBERS EXCHANGE INFORMATION ABOUT CRIMINAL DEFENSE; ACCESS TO THE EXCLUSIVE "MEMBERS ONLY SECTION" OF THE WWW.GACDL.ORG WEBSITE WITH TRIAL MOTIONS, SEMINAR MATERIALS, EXPERT WITNESS INFORMATION, ETC.; NETWORKING AND REFERRAL WITH MORE THAN 1,400 OTHER MEMBERS; TRAINING FOR NEW LAWYERS IN THE BASICS OF HANDLING CRIMINAL TRIALS; DISCOUNTS TO CLE PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS EXCLUSIVELY ON CRIMINAL LAW; FREE TEMPORARY/EMERGENCY LEGAL ASSISTANCE TO YOU IF YOU ARE UNDER ATTACK BECAUSE OF YOUR REPRESENTATION OF A CLIENT IN A CRIMINAL CASE; SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE NATIONAL CRIMINAL DEFENSE COLLEGE AND THE GACDL BILL DANIEL TRIAL ADVOCACY PROGRAM; AND COMMITTEES THROUGH WHICH MEMBERS CAN FORMULATE AND EXPRESS THEIR POSITIONS ON LEGISLATION, JUDICIAL APPOINTMENTS, AMICUS CURIAE BRIEFS, AND OTHER MATTERS AFFECTING THE ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IN GEORGIA.
