THE GROUP HAS PUBLISHED SEVERAL HISTORICAL BOOKS, MAINTAINS THE RAILROAD HOUSE MUSEUM AND PROVIDES HISTORICAL INFORMATION ON SANFORD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. THE GROUP HAS TAKEN THE LEAD IN THE STABILIZATION, RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE ENDOR FURNACE, A HISTORICAL STRUCTURE FROM THE 1850'S.

PUBLISHES INFORMATION ON SITES AND BUILDINGS OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE. PRESERVATION OF SANFORD'S OLDEST HOUSE.
STABILIZATION, RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE ENDOR IRON FURNACE BUILT IN THE 1850'S. DEVELOPMENT OF A PARK WITH HIKING TRAILS, CANOE ACCESS AND AN INTERPRETIVE CENTER WITH THE FURNACE AS THE CENTERPIECE. THE PARK WILL BE OF SIGNIFICANT CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC BENEFIT TO LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA.
