OUR MISSION IS TO ADVANCE A FULLY USABLE BUILT ENVIRONMENT FOR EVERYONE REGARDLESS OF AGE, ABILITY, OR CIRCUMSTANCE.

Part 3
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE: PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, CONSULTING, DESIGN, ETC. SERVICES. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2017, WE PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE ON ADA COMPLIANCE AND FOR FAIR HOUSING COMPLIANCE. CLIENTS INCLUDED NORTH CAROLINA LEGAL AID, BOBRICK WASHROOM EQUIPMENT, PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS, AND EASTERN ESTATES. BEGAN A REGIONAL HOME ACCESSIBILITY FUNDING PROGRAM TO MAKE POSITIVE CHANGES IN THE HOMES OF LOW INCOME HOUSEHOLDS IN FL, TX, GA, AND NC.
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS, CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT, AND OTHER ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO PROMOTE UNIVERSAL DESIGN AND ACCESSIBILITY CONCEPTS. DURING THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2017, WE CONDUCTED A MAJOR CONFERENCE IN WEST VIRGINIA AND NUMEROUS CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS AND SEMINARS IN NORTH CAROLINA, WASHINGTON DC, AND MEMPHIS. WE WERE A JUROR IN A NATIONAL AND AN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSAL DESIGN COMPETITION. WE ADDED SUBSTANTIAL CONTRIBUTIONS TO SOCIAL MEDIA ON FACEBOOK, LINKEDIN, PINTEREST, TWITTER, AND HOUZZ TO ENGAGE INDUSTRY AND THE PUBLIC. CONTINUED WORK ON THE NATIONAL BETTER LIVING DESIGN INSTITUTE, WHICH PROMOTES UD DESIGN STANDARDS FOR DWELLINGS. CONDUCTED NUMEROUS INTERVIEWS WITH REPORTERS FOR ARTICLES.
