SCDHC'S MISSION IS TO USE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO CREATE VIABLE, THRIVING, AND SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITIES. OUR PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE QUALITY RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPPORTIVE RESOURCES, SERVICES AND PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE CENTRAL VIRGINIA REGION.

PROVIDED 711 CLIENTS HOME OWNERSHIP EDUCATION, PRE AND POST HOUSING COUNSELING, CREDIT AND FORECLOSURE PREVENTION COUNSELING. PROVIDED 22 HOMEBUYER DOWN PAYMENT AND CLOSING COST ASSISTANCE. BUILT AND SOLD 14 NEW CONSTRUCTION SINGLE FAMILY HOMES FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME FIRST TIME HOMEBUYERS. THE FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT, FINANCIAL LITERACY AND INCOME SUPPORT SERVICES TO 84 CLIENTS. CONTINUED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DASP, WORK FORCE AND RENT RELIEF(RRP)PROGRAMS. CONTINUOUS CERTIFICAATION OF HUD APPROVED HOUSING COUNSELING AGENCY.AQUIRED A 10 UNIT APARTMENT BUILDING IN PETERSBURG, VA TO PROVIDE HOUSING FOR LOW TO MODERATE INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES.
