THE MISSION OF THE HENRICUS FOUNDATION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL, CULTURAL AND RECREACTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH THE PRESERVATION, RECONSTRUCTION AND INTERPRETATION OF THE CITIE OF HENRICUS, A VIRGINIA HISTORICAL SITE FIRST SETTLED IN 1611. PARTICULAR EMPHASIS IS GIVEN TO SECONDARY SCHOOL INTERPRETATION AND EDUCATION.

THE HENRICUS FOUNDATION IS RECONSTRUCTING THE 1611 COLONIAL SETTLEMENT - THE "CITIE OF HENRICUS" - ON LAND OWNED BY THE COUNTIES OF CHESTERFIELD AND HENRICO, VIRGINIA. THE FOUNDATION INTERPRETS THE HISTORICAL SITE FOR VISITORS, INCLUDING PUBLIC SCHOOL TOUR GROUPS, AND PRESENTS RELATED EDUCATIONAL AND HISTORICAL PROGRAMS AT THE SITE.
