IS A NONPROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED TO CARRY OUT COMMUNITY ACTION PROGRAMS WHICH ARE GENERALLY FUNDED BY REVENUE FROM AGENCY PROGRAMS AND GRANTS FROM LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES. SUCH GRANTS USUALLY REQUIRES COMPLIANCE WITH PRESCRIBED GRANT CONDITIONS AND OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS, INCLUDING THE FURNISHING OF CERTAIN AMOUNTS OF CASH OR NONCASH CONTRIBUTIONS.

HEAD START WORKED IN 2021-2022 TO MOVE FORWARD FROM THE COVID PANDEMIC. WELCOMING A TOTAL OF 186 CHILDREN IN OUR PROGRAM YEAR, TEACHERS EMPHASIZED SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ACADEMIC SKILLS NEEDED TO MOVE INTO KINDERGARTEN. FAMILIES OF HEAD START CHILDREN RECEIVED SUPPORT AND RESOURCES IN HOUSING, EMPLOYMENT, AND FOOD INSECURITIES TO ASSIST THEM IN MEETING THE HEALTHY GOALS WE SET FOR CHILDREN EACH YEAR. WE ACCOMPLISHED A TOTAL OF 1020 HOURS OF QUALITY EARLY CARE AND INSTRUCTION FOR CHILDREN AND 6 PARENT WORKSHOPS TO ASSIST IN LIFE CHALLENGES.
CSBG CSBG BUDGETS FOR FEDERAL, TANF AND COVID BY DOMAIN INCLUDES 8% FOR MULTIPLE DOMAINS, 5% FOR CAPACITY BUILDING , 17% FOR EMPLOYMENT AND 70% FOR HOUSING SERVICES. LYNCAG SERVICED 470 FAMILIES, 852 INDIVIDUALS AND UTILIZED 988 HOURS OF VOLUNTEER TIME. IN RESPONSE TO THE ONGOING PANDEMIC, LYNCAG WAS ABLE TO ALTER PROGRAMS TO VIRTUAL FORMATS. THE AGENCY CHANGED THEIR ORIGINAL INTAKE PROCESSES TO MANGE THE INFLUX OF CLIENTS REQUESTING SERVICES. LYNCAG ALSO HIRED A NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IN 2021.
LYNCHBURG COMMUNITY ACTION GROUP, INC., FIRST-TIME HOMEBUYERS CLUB STARTED IN OCTOBER 2021 WITH 14 MEMBERS. WE ASSISTED 37 FAMILY WITH OUR COVID-19 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
LYNCAG HAS OVER 40 OTHER SEPARATE GRANTS WHICH RELATE TO HOUSING, CHILD CARE, AND CLIENT ASSISTANCE.
