(PCR) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT PROMOTES THE FULL INCLUSION OF TEENS AND ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES (I/DD) INTO ALL ASPECTS OF COMMUNITY LIFE BY PROVIDING AWARD-WINNING THERAPEUTIC, SOCIAL/RECREATIONAL, AND RESPITE CARE PROGRAMS; BY PROVIDING RESOURCE INFORMATION AND REFERRALS; AND THROUGH COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS THAT SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WITH I/DD.

PCR PROGRAMS: TO PROTECT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR MEMBERS, VOLUNTEERS, AND STAFF, PCR CONTINUED TO PROVIDE VIRTUAL PROGRAMMING. DURING FY 2022, PCR OFFERED TWENTY ONLINE MUSIC, ART, HEALTH & FITNESS, COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS, PHOTOGRAPHY, RESPITE, AND SOCIAL PROGRAMS. IN ADDITION, PCR PROVIDED OUR MEMBERS WITH OVER 140 PROGRAM VIDEOS THAT ARE ARCHIVED ON THE PCR WEBSITE (WWW.PCR-INC.ORG) AND ACCESSIBLE FOR ON-DEMAND VIEWING.
RESOURCE INFORMATION & REFERRALS: PCR PROVIDES FAMILY MEMBERS AND PROFESSIONALS WITH RESOURCE INFORMATION AND REFERRALS VIA INDIVIDUAL CONSULTATION, MONTHLY INFORMATIONAL WEBINARS, AND A RESOURCE DIRECTORY ON THE PCR WEBSITE. PCR PARTNERS WITH TWO DOZEN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, CIVIC GROUPS, CLUBS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, I/DD SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES TO SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH I/DD AND PROMOTE THEIR INTERESTS.
COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS: PCR ASSISTS OTHER COMMUNITY AND FAITH-BASED GROUPS IN CREATING PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DIFFERENCES, RESULTING IN THE START-UP OF NEW PROGRAMS IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS: CHEVY CHASE, MD; NORTHEAST WASHINGTON, DC; UPPER MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD; SOUTHERN MARYLAND; AND PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD, INCLUDING ONE FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS SPANISH. PCR ALSO SUPPORTS SAFE, AFFORDABLE HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH I/DD.
