GLORYSTAR CHILDRENS CHORUS (GCC) PROVIDES EXCELLENT MUSIC EDUCATION TO CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE JOY OF CHORAL ART. THROUGH A RICH REPERTOIRE OF EASTERN AND WESTERN MUSIC, GCC PROMOTES MUSIC APPRECIATION AND BUILDS BRIDGES IN OUR DIVERSE COMMUNITY

MUSIC EDUCATION REVISED PARAGRAPH WITH REVISED NUMBERS: $ 75,743 PROVIDED EXCELLENT MUSIC EDUCATION TO 82 CHORISTERS, AGES 5 TO 18. OUR STUDENTCOMMUNITY IS APPROXIMATELY 90% ASIAN OR ASIAN DESCENT, AND 6% RECEIVED SOME FINANCIALAID. THE CHORISTERS ARE DIVIDED INTO FIVE CHOIR GROUPS ACCORDING TO AGE AND MUSICKNOWLEDGE: PRIMA, DOLCE, CANTABILE, CONCERT, AND CHAMBER CHOIRS. THE MUSIC EDUCATIONINCLUDES VOCAL TECHNIQUES, MUSIC THEORY, SIGHT-READING, EAR TRAINING, MUSICAPPRECIATION AND INTERPRETATION, AND CHORAL HARMONY. ALL INSTRUCTION AND CONCERTS WERE VIRTUAL DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. TWO CHOIR GROUPS RETURNED TO IN-PERSON REHEARSALS FOR THE MONTHS OF APRIL AND MAY 2021


PUBLIC PERFORMANCES $17,072PRESENTED A TOTAL OF 3 VIRTUAL PUBLIC PERFORMANCES OF EASTERN AND WESTERN CHORAL MUSIC, REACHING AN AUDIENCE OF MORE THAN 900 PEOPLE: 2 FULL CONCERTS WITH ALL SINGING GROUPS, 1 VOCAL COMPETITION/RECITAL ALL PERFORMANCES WERE ACCESSIBLE FOR INDIVIDUALS OF ALL ABILITIES AND WERE STREAMED ON YOUTUBE WHICH PROVIDED CLOSED CAPTIONING. NOTE: WHERE PUBLIC PERFORMANCES -ALL CONCERT RELATED: VIDEO PRODUCTION - 50% OF CLASS MATERIALS (ONLY MUSIC SCORES, NOT THEORY BOOKS)- 50% OF OPERATIONS: WEBSITE, PHONE, SUPPLIES, PRINTING & COPYING, ETC
