PUBLIC POLICY: TO SHAPE ITS AMERICA'S LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES AND SUPPORT ASSOCIATION EFFORTS TO ACHIEVE ITS PRIORITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. THE PUBLIC POLICY DEPARTMENT ADDRESSES FOUNDATIONAL ISSUES SUCH AS FUNDING FOR TRANSPORTATION AND TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT, SMART CITIES TRANSPORTATION INITIATIVES, BROAD RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT AND LARGER PROGRAMS ADDRESSING INNOVATION. THE PUBLIC POLICY DEPARTMENT ALSO ADDRESSES THE BUSINESS CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES AS A PART OF LARGER INITIATIVES.


TECHNICAL PROGRAMS: ITS AMERICA SUPPORTS THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY ADMINISTRATION, OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE TRANSPORTATION INDUSTRY BY PROVIDING RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY UPDATES.


CONFERENCE AND EDUCATION: ITS AMERICA, IN A LICENSING PARTNERSHIP WITH A THIRD PARTY, SPONSORS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE TWO OUT OF EVERY THREE YEARS, AND AN INTERNATIONAL WORLD CONGRESS EVERY THREE YEARS. THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND WORLD CONGRESS BRING TOGETHER TRANSPORTATION EXPERTS FROM GOVERNMENTAL BODIES, PRIVATE SECTOR FIRMS, AND RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS. IN ADDITION TO THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND WORLD CONGRESS, ITS AMERICA ORGANIZES SMALLER EVENTS THROUGHOUT EACH YEAR WITH MEMBERS AND OTHER INDUSTRY PARTICIPANTS.
