TO FOSTER AND PROVIDE FOR THE SAFETY, EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF PERSONNEL ENGAGED IN THE IRON WORKER INDUSTRY, I.E. SUPPORT OF UNION SPONSORED APPRENTICESHIP, SAFETY, TRAINING PROGRAMS AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS.THIS IS DONE BY GIVING MONETARY ASSISTANCE TO THE JOINT APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING COMMITTEE (JATC), OPERATED BY IRONWORKERS LOCAL UNION 5.


TO ADVOCATE FOR THE IRON WORKERS WHO WERE UNION MEMBERS OF BALTIMORE IRON WORKERS LOCAL #16(BALTIMORE, MD)AND MONITOR AND ASSIST WITH THE MERGING OF THEIR VARIOUS BENEFIT FUNDS WITH THE IRON WORKERS LOCAL #5 (DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA). THE FUNDS INVOLVED ARE: PENSION FUND, ANNUITY FUND, HEALTH AND WELFARE FUND, VACATION FUND, INDUSTRY ADVANCEMENT FUND.
