THE MISSION OF THE WASHINGTON BACH CONSORT IS TO 1) PERFORM TO THE HIGHEST ARTISTIC STANDARDS THE MUSIC OF JS BACH AND HIS BAROQUE CONTEMPORARIES, 2) EXPAND ITS AUDIENCE THROUGH CONCERTS, COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER PERFORMING ENSEMBLES, MEDIA APPEARANCES, MARKETABLE RECORDING AND TOURS, AND 3) PROMOTE CURRENT AND FUTURE APPRECIATION OF JS BACH IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH COMPELLING MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS PRESENTED BY MEMBERS OF THE CONSORT.

SUBSCRIPTION PERFORMANCES - PERFORM TO THE HIGHEST ARTISTIC STANDARDS THE MUSIC OF JS BACH AND HIS BAROQUE CONTEMPORARIES. FREE NOONTIME CONTATA SERIES - EXPAND ITS AUDIENCE THROUGH CONCERTS, COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER PERFORMING ENSEMBLES, MEDIA APPEARANCES, MARKETABLE RECORDINGS AND TOURS. TALKING BACH LECTURES - PROMOTE CURRENT AND FUTURE APPRECIATION OF JS BACH IN OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH COMPELLING MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS. PRIOR TO COVID, THE CONSORT HAD AS MANY AS FORTY IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES. IN FY21 AS A RESULT OF COVID, THERE WEREN'T ANY IN-PERSON PERFORMANCES. INSTEAD THERE WERE 11 VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES- MUSICIANS WERE PAID, BUT THE EVENTS WERE FREE TO ATTEND ONLINE. FEWER PERFORMANCES EMPLOYING FEWER MUSICIANS. IN FY22, THE CONSORT WILL RETURN TO PERFORMING IN PERSON.
