THE UNITED STATES MEAT EXPORT FEDERATION, INC. IS A WASHINGTON, D.C. NONPROFIT CORPORATION CHARTERED IN 1975. ITS PURPOSE IS TO SUPPORT AND ENHANCE THE WORLDWIDE EXPORT OF RED MEAT PRODUCTS. USMEF SOLICITS FUNDING FROM SEVERAL GROUPS, INCLUDING THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE THROUGH ITS FOREIGN AGRICULTURE SERVICE, AND NATIONAL, STATEWIDE, AND INDUSTRY RED MEAT ORGANIZATIONS. USMEF CURRENTLY OPERATES OFFICES IN TOKYO, HONG KONG, BEIJING, SEOUL, TAIPEI, SINGAPORE, SHANGHAI, MEXICO CITY, AND MONTERREY. USMEF ALSO MAINTAINS A YEAR-ROUND PRESENCE IN BEIRUT, THE CARIBBEAN, CENTRAL AMERICA, AND GUANG ZHOU, SOUTH AMERICA, SOUTHEAST ASIA, COMMONWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT STATES, AFRICA AND EUROPE.
