Part 3 - Line 4a

FOOD SERVICES: THE LIFE ENRICHMENT CENTER (LEC) PROVIDED HOT BREAKFAST AND GROCERIES TO ITS CLIENTS IN 2022. IN-KIND DONATIONS FROM BUSINESSES, INDIVIDUALS, AND CHURCHES SIGNIFICANTLY RESOURCED THESE SERVICES. ADDITIONALLY, FOOD ITEMS WERE SHARED WITH OTHER NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FEEDING THOSE IN NEED IN THE COMMUNITY. THE LEC FINDLAY STREET CAFE DID NOT RE-OPEN AFTER THE COVID SHUTDOWN, BUT OFF-SITE CATERING AND TO-GO SOUP SALES CONTINUE TO OCCUR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MIAMI VALLEY CAREER TECHNOLOGY CENTER ADULT EDUCATION TRAINING.

HEALTH AND EDUCATION: THE LEC PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS TO PARTICIPATE IN A WIDE VARIETY OF CLASSES AND HEALTH SERVICES. THE GOALS OF THESE CLASSES ARE TO CREATE COMMUNITY, IMPROVE QUALITY OF LIFE, AND POTENTIALLY PROVIDE NEEDED SKILLS TO REENTER THE WORKFORCE. THE CLASSES OFFERED IN 2022 INCLUDED: VARIOUS BIBLE STUDIES, RECOVERY BASED PROGRAMS, FITNESS CENTER, AND GROUP FITNESS CLASSES (ONLINE AND IN-PERSON), COMPUTERS, GED PREPARATION, ART CLASSES, NUTRITION AND HEALTHY LIVING SEMINARS. THE LEC HAS CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS TO TEACH THE 'GETTING AHEAD IN A JUST GETTING BY WORLD' CLASS, WHICH IS DESIGNED TO HELP PEOPLE BUILD THE RESOURCES THEY NEED FOR A BETTER LIFE.

CLIENT SERVICES: LEC CLIENTS HAVE ACCESS TO A HOST OF SERVICES TO MEET THEIR NEEDS. TRAINED VOLUNTEERS ASSIST THOSE IN NEED THROUGH PROVIDING FREE SHOWERS, CLOTHING PANTRY, AND ACCESS TO A CHOICE PANTRY FOR HOMELESS OR THOSE LIVING IN SUBSTANDARD CONDITIONS. VOLUNTEERS GUIDE THOSE WITH EVEN GREATER NEEDS TO AVAILABLE RESOURCES IN THE COMMUNITY. THE EAST DAYTON SENIOR COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM MEETS LOCAL SENIORS' NEEDS FOR FOOD, SOCIALIZATION, AND ACCESS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES VIA MONTHLY MEETINGS AT THE LEC AND TWO OTHER LOCATIONS. ADDITIONALLY, BICYCLES WERE PROVIDED TO THOSE WITH TRANSPORTATION NEEDS WITHIN THE LEC EXCHANGE CHARITY MODEL.
