ENABLING LOW-INCOME & DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES & INDIVIDUALS OF ALL AGES TO ATTAIN THE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, MOTIVATION & TO SECURE THE OPPORTUNITY NEEDED FOR THEM TO BECOME FULLY SELF-SUFFICIENT, OR IN THE CASE OF DISABILITY, INDEPENDENT & SELF-SUFFICIENT TO THE EXTENT FEASIBLE; TO INTERVENE AT CRITICAL POINTS IN THE CAUSES OF POVERTY; ENABLE LOW-INCOME & DISADVANTAGED FAMILIES & INDIVIDUALS TO WORK TO IMPROVE THEIR SELF-SUFFICIENCY; ASSIST OLDER & DISABLED PERSONS TO MAINTAIN THEIR INDEPENDENCE & DIGNITY & TO PROVIDE CONTINUING RESEARCH RELATED TO THE PROBLEMS OF AGING AND POVERTY.

ENERGY ASSISTANCE - PROVIDES ASSISTANCE FOR ELDERLY AND LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS TO MEET ENERGY BILLS TO ASSURE THAT THEY HAVE HEAT THROUGH THE WINTER. IN 2021, 5,531 HOUSEHOLDS WERE SERVED.


AREA AGENCY ON AGING - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A WIDE VARIETY OF SERVICES TO OLDER INDIVIDUALS, INCLUDING PREPARATION AND SERVING OF MEALS (68,539 MEALS), PROVISION OF IN-HOME HEALTH AND HOME MAINTENANCE SERVICES (39,521 HOURS), ACCESS TO SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER (12,100 HOURS), 142 SENIORS ISSUED VOUCHERS TO THE FARMERS MARKET, AND 7153 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SENIOR CITIZENS 60+ SERVED WAS 11,967.


COMMUNITY SERVICES -PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SERVICES TO UNDERSERVED PERSONS WITHIN AREA IV AGENCY'S EIGHT-COUNTY SERVICE AREA. IN 2021, 34 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED IN THIS PROGRAM PROVIDING 181.5 HOURS OF SERVICES.
