PERFORMANCE & TOURING - THE COMPANY PERFORMS IN OUR HOME BASE OF NEW YORK CITY, AND ON TOUR ACROSS THE US AND OVERSEAS. THE COMPANY PERFORMED "TRISHA BROWN: IN PLAIN SITE" AT ROCKAWAY BEACH, QUEENS, NY AS PART OF BEACH SESSIONS, PREMIERED JUDITH RUZ SANCHEZ'S COMMISSION TITLE "LET'S TALK ABOUT BLEEDING" AT THE JOYCE THEATER ALONG WITH "FOR M.G.:THE MOVIE AND "ROGUES, AND AT PRESENTED "ROGUES" AS PART OF A SHARED BILL AT KAATSBAAN IN NEW YORK. THE COMPANY RECONSTRUCTS MASTERWORKS FROM BROWN'S EXTENSIVE REPERTORY AND BUILDS THEM INTO CURATED PROGRAMS FOR PRESENTATIONS IN OUR HOME BASE OF NEW YORK CITY AS WELL AS ON TOUR BOTH NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY. DURING FY23, WE RECONSTRUCTED "FOR M.G.: THE MOVIE " (1991), "WORKING TITLE" (1985), AND "ROGUES" (2011). IN ADDITION TO THESE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECTS, THE COMPANY INVITED GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER JUDITH RUZ SANCHEZ TO CREATE AN ORIGINAL WORK TITLED "LET'S TALK ABOUT BLEEDING." THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME A CHOREOGRAPHER OTHER THAN BROWN CREATED A WORK ON THE COMPANY.
EDUCATION - THE COMPANY CONDUCTS DANCE TRAINING IN NEW YORK AND TEACHING RESIDENCIES AT MAJOR UNIVERSITIES AND ACADEMIES IN THE US AND ABROAD. THE EDUCATION DEPARTMENT ALSO MANAGES LICENSING FOR BROWN'S WORKS, DISSEMINATING HER CHOREOGRAPHY BY SETTING WORKS ON OTHER PROFESSIONAL COMPANIES. DURING FY23, NYC TRAINING ACTIVITIES INCLUDED WEEKLY CLASSES HOSTED BY MOVEMENT RESEARCH PLUS WINTER & SUMMER INTENSIVES TAUGHT BY COMPANY ALUMNI AND HOSTED PARTICIPANTS FROM AROUND THE WORLD.
ARCHIVE - SINCE 2009, THE COMPANY HAS UNDERTAKEN EXTENSIVE WORK ON OUR ARCHIVAL HOLDINGS, CATALOGING AND PRESERVING THOUSANDS OF VIDEOS, FILMS, AND OTHER DOCUMENTARY ITEMS. THE TRISHA BROWN ARCHIVES HAVE NOW BEEN PLACED AT THE NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, THE WALKER ART CENTER, THE MUSEUM OF MODERN ART AND THE TATE MODERN. BY PLACING THE ARCHIVE IN THIS WAY, WE HOPE TO ENSURE PUBLIC AND SCHOLARLY ACCESS TO THIS RICH COLLECTION, AND TO SEE THESE HOLDINGS BECOME THE SOURCE MATERIALS FOR A BROAD RANGE OF EXPOSITIONS, MULTI-MEDIA DISPLAYS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS THAT ALLOW PEOPLE TO EXPERIENCE TRISHA BROWN'S CREATIVITY IN DIFFERENT WAYS.
