YOUTH MINISTRY: YOUTH PROGRAMS DEVOTED TO CHILDREN AGES 5-12 YEARS. WEEKLY PROGRAMS EACH THURSDAY EVENING, WHICH INCLUDES A MEAL, HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE, AND TEACHINGS. ADDITIONALLY, GROUP FIELD TRIPS ARE PLANNED THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. GOALS ARE: 1.THROUGH WORSHIP, TO CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO ENCOUNTER GOD. 2.THROUGH AN ATMOSPHERE OF LOVE TO CREATE A SURROGATE FAMILY ENVIRONMENT WHERE EVERY CHILD KNOWS THEY ARE LOVED, ACCEPTED AND IMPORTANT. 3.THROUGH TEACHING, TO EQUIP YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE ABILITY TO ANSWER LIFE'S QUESTIONS THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD AS THE ONLY REAL SOURCE OF TRUTH AND DIRECTION. 4.THROUGH SOCIALIZATION BASED UPON CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES, TO TRAIN YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AND BOLD IN THEIR CHRISTIAN WITNESS. 5.THROUGH PROPHETIC REVELATION TO IDENTIFY THE GIFTEDNESS IN EACH CHILD AND CREATE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEIR GIFTS TO BE REFINED AND RELEASED. 6.THROUGH TEACHING AND COUNSELING TO BRING YOUNG PEOPLE INTO A REVELATION OF THEIR TRUE GOD GIVEN IDENTITY.
COMMUNITY HEALING GARDENS: THIS ENDEAVOR ENCOMPASSES TEN (10) BEDS THAT HOLD VEGETABLES, HERBS, AND FLOWERS. 2019 WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THIS GARDEN. JOSEPH'S HARVEST FOOD PANTRY: IT IS THE MISSION OF JOSEPH'S HARVEST FOOD BANK TO PROVIDE FOOD AND OTHER NECESSITIES TO FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY THAT SUFFER FROM FOOD INSECURITY AS A RESULT OF POVERTY, SICKNESS, IMMOBILITY, EMERGENCY SITUATIONS, OR OTHER DEBILITATING CIRCUMSTANCES. IT IS OUR GOAL TO WORK IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE GREATER PITTSBURGH FOOD BANK AND OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO BRING MUCH NEEDED FOOD AND SUPPLIES TO FAMILIES IN NEED. JOSEPH'S HARVEST HAS BEEN IN OPERATION FOR APPROXIMATELY 25 YEARS THROUGH THE GREATER PITTSBURGH FOOD BANK. OUR REGULAR OPERATIONS HAVE INCLUDED FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS ON THE LAST FRIDAY OF EACH MONTH AND FULFILLING EMERGENCY NEEDS THROUGHOUT THE MONTH ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS. ON AVERAGE WE HAVE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 250 INDIVIDUALS EACH MONTH ENCOMPASSING APPROXIMATELY 120 FAMILIES.
TEEN MINISTRY: TEEN MINISTRY: TEEN PROGRAMS DEVOTED TO TEENAGERS AGED 13+. ON THURSDAY EVENINGS, STARTING AT SEVEN O'CLOCK THE TEENS ARE INVITED TO ENTER THE "LOCKER ROOM". THIS IS A TIME WHEN THE TEENS ARE ENCOURAGED TO CHALLENGE EACH OTHER IN ENGAGING DIALOGUE, GROW TOGETHER, AND INTERACT WITH THEIR PEERS. THEY LEARN THE WORD OF GOD AND HOW TO HEAR AND APPLY WHAT GOD SPEAKS CONCERNING EVERY AREA OF THEIR LIVES AS HE DRAWS THEM CLOSER TO HIM. WHEN THE TEENS COME, THEY RECEIVE A MEAL, TIME TO HANG OUT WITH FRIENDS, AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, THEY LEARN THROUGH SHARING, DISCUSSIONS ON RELEVANT TOPICS, AND INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION. THE TEENS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING A FRIEND AND LEARN ABOUT GOD AND HOW MUCH HE LOVES AND DELIGHTS IN THEM
DIVINE DANCE MINISTRY: A DANCE GROUP OF YOUNG GIRLS AGED 9-11 YEARS. THE MINISTRY INCLUDES INSTRUCTION, PRACTICE SESSIONS, TRAINING, AND PERFORMANCES. THE MISSION IS TO DEMONSTRATE WORSHIP THROUGH MOVEMENT AND DISPLAY THE LOVE OF GOD THROUGH THE ART OF DANCE. OUR GOAL IS TO MINISTER TO GOD AND THE BODY OF CHRIST THROUGH PRAISE BY SPREADING THE GOSPEL TO BELIEVERS AND NON-BELIEVERS. WE WILL IMPACT THE ATMOSPHERE BY DISPLAYING FREEDOM IN OUR WORSHIP AND GIVING GOD WHAT HE DESIRES.
