WITH GLOBAL TRAVEL MORE BROADLY RE-OPENED IN 2022, THE NORMANDY INSTITUTE (THE INSTITUTE) WAS ABLE TO RESUME IN-PERSON OUTREACH IN THE UNITED STATES, REKINDLING EXISTING CONTACTS AND FORGING NEW ONES WITH PROSPECTIVE INDIVIDUAL AND CORPORATE DONORS, AND HIGHER LEARNING INSTITUTIONS. FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES SIMILARLY PICKED UP COMPARED TO 2020-2021, PARTICULARLY RELATING TO THE EPISODIC FILMS IN PRODUCTION THAT FOLLOW COL. (RET.) KEITH NIGHTINGALES EDUCATIONAL WALKS WITH ACTIVE-DUTY U.S. SOLDIERS THROUGH MANY CRUCIAL BATTLE SITES ACROSS NORMANDY, FRANCE. THE PROJECT IS BEING FUNDED WITH MONIES RAISED SPECIFICALLY FOR THAT PURPOSE AND THE INSTITUTE IS SEEKING AN APPROPRIATE DISTRIBUTION AVENUE FOR THE FILMS WITH A RELEASE TO COINCIDE WITH THE 80TH D-DAY ANNIVERSARY FESTIVITIES IN 2024. THE INSTITUTE SUPPORTED THE D-DAY 79 COMMEMORATION BY HOSTING TWO EVENTS ONE WAS ATTENDED BY AND HONORED 60 WWII VETERANS; THE OTHER WAS AN EVENING WITH THE U.S. AMBASSADOR TO FRANCE, VETERANS, AND SENIOR U.S. MILITARY COMMAND LEADERS. THE INSTITUTE CONTINUES TO BUILD AWARENESS OF ITS MISSION AND ACTIVITIES THROUGH INCREASED SOCIAL MEDIA VIEWS OF THE MYRIAD SHORT FILMS PRODUCED PRIOR TO AND DURING THE PANDEMIC.
