Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

THE IMPACT AND EFFECTIVENESS THE GRANT RECEIVED WERE PRICELESS. THE FUNDS KEEP NORTHEAST INDIANA NEIGHBORHOOD ENGAGEMENT (NINE) OPERATING, AS WELL AS ALLOWING US TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE FAMILIES THAT WE ENCOUNTER DURING OUTREACH. FAMILIES FROM OUR PARTNERING CHURCHES COME AND SERVE AS WE ARE DISTRIBUTING AND WE SEE THE IMPACT NOT ONLY FOR THE PEOPLE WHO RECEIVE, BUT FOR THE FAMILIES THAT COME TO HELP OUT. THIS IS ABOUT PROVIDING RESOURCES TO YOUTH AND FAMILIES AND BRINGING THE BODY OF CHRIST TOGETHER. NINE HAS PROVIDED OUTREACH TO TARGETED FAMILIES IN OUR DEFINED URBAN AREA VIA BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENTS IN THE DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AND PROVIDED MEALS TO OVER 800 FAMILIES AND CHILDREN. NINE FOCUSED ON THE PILOT AREA WHICH IS BETHLEHEM AND LUTHERAN SOUTH UNITY SCHOOL. THE MEALS WERE AT THE SAME TIME AS THE SCHOOL SUPPLY DISTRIBUTION. PASTOR KING USED SULWE AS A BOOK TO TEACH THE STUDENTS THAT THEY ARE STARS AS WELL AS GIVE THEM ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT. NINE PROVIDED ADDITIONAL FOOD TO FAMILIES AND RESOURCES TO HELP MAKE THEIR LIVES EASIER. NORTHEAST INDIANA NEIGHBORHOOD ENGAGEMENT WORKS TO HELP IMPROVE THE MENTAL HEALTH OF THE INDIVIDUALS SERVED. REV. KING IS A COMPANIONSHIP INSTRUCTOR WITH PATHWAYS TO PROMISE WHICH SERVES TO HELP PEOPLE LEARN HOW TO ASSIST PEOPLE WHO HAVE MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. WE HAVE IDENTIFIED THAT FOOD INSECURITY AND LIFE ISSUES HAVE CHALLENGED THE MENTAL HEALTH OF MANY. NINE SERVES TO MEET EACH PERSON RIGHT WHERE THEY ARE TO HELP THEM ON THEIR JOURNEY. -PASTOR KING WORKED WITH STUDENTS AT LSUS REGARDING THEIR PHYSICAL DEFICITS AND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL NEEDS. MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS IN STUDENTS OFTEN SHOWED UP IN BEHAVIOR AND REV. KING WAS CALLED IN TO HELP WITH THE STUDENTS. -RESIDENTS IN THE COMMUNITY HAVE SOUGHT PASTOR KING FOR ASSISTANCE AND HELP AS HE HAS REFERRED PEOPLE TO LOOKUP AND SYSTEMS OF CARE.
