DEAFINITELY DOGS IS A SERVICE DOG AND PROFESSIONAL FACILITY DOG ORGANIZATION THAT ENRICHES THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WITH VISIBLE AND INVISIBLE DISABILITIES LIVE A MORE INDEPENDENT LIFE THROUGH THE LOVE AND PLACEMENT OF HIGHLY TRAINED SERVICE DOGS, TRAINED SPECIFICALLY FOR EACH INDIVIDUALS NEEDS. WE STRIVE FOR INCREASED INDEPENDENCE FOR OUR CLIENTS AND BELIEVE STRONGLY IN THE HUMAN / CANINE BOND. WE ACQUIRE AND PLACE: AUTISM SERVICE DOGS, HEARING NOTIFICATION DOGS, MOBILITY ASSIST DOGS, AND PTSD/PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOGS (BOTH VETERAN AND CIVILIAN). SERVICE DOG PROGRAM - DEAFINITELY DOGS EXCELS IN MATCHING HIGHLY TRAINED SERVICE DOGS WITH CLIENTS, ACHIEVING IMPRESSIVE OUTCOMES, INCLUDING A 100% TEAM RETENTION RATE. WITH 67% OF OUR DOGS SUCCESSFULLY PLACED IN WORKING POSITIONS-WELL ABOVE THE NATIONAL AVERAGE-AND PLACEMENT COSTS SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN THE NATIONAL STANDARD, WE CONTINUE TO LEAD IN SERVICE DOG TRAINING AND PLACEMENT. OUR PRIMARY PLACEMENTS INCLUDE PTSD SERVICE DOGS, WITH A FOCUS ON COMBAT VETERANS, AS WELL AS PSYCHIATRIC SERVICE DOGS AND HEARING DOGS. AT THE HEART OF OUR PROGRAM IS THE HUMAN-CANINE BOND; WE ALLOW EACH DOG TO MEET AND CHOOSE THEIR PERSON, ENSURING THE MOST EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIPS.

IN RESPONSE, WE HAVE FOCUSED OUR PROGRAM ON PLACING FACILITY DOGS WITH MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELORS AND THERAPISTS WHO INCORPORATE ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY AND INTERVENTIONS INTO THEIR PRACTICE. WITH LINN COUNTY RANKING AMONG THE LOWEST IN IOWA FOR MENTAL HEALTH OUTCOMES, DEAFINITELY DOGS IS HELPING THERAPISTS OFFER INNOVATIVE AND IMPACTFUL WAYS TO ENGAGE AND SUPPORT THEIR CLIENTS.
SUPER PUPPY RAISER PROGRAM - DEAFINITELY DOGS HAS SUCCESSFULLY EXPANDED THE PUPPY RAISER PROGRAM BACK TO ITS PRE-PANDEMIC CAPACITY. THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES INDIVIDUAL FAMILIES AND COLLEGE CAMPUS PROGRAMS, STEADILY INCREASING OUR POOL OF SERVICE-DOGS-IN-TRAINING AS NEW PUPPY RAISERS JOIN. PUPPY RAISERS WORK CLOSELY WITH DEAFINITELY DOGS TRAINERS, ATTENDING CLASSES AND PREPARING THE DOGS FOR ENTRY INTO OUR SERVICE OR FACILITY DOG PROGRAMS FOR ADVANCED TRAINING AND EVENTUAL PLACEMENT. WE DO NOT USE KENNELS OR FACILITIES TO HOUSE OUR DOGS; INSTEAD, PUPPY RAISERS PLAY AN ESSENTIAL ROLE IN OUR ORGANIZATION, FOSTERING THE GROWTH AND SUCCESS OF OUR DOGS.
