HOMESTEAD YOUTH ARTS CENTER, INC., PROVIDES PROGRAMS TO EMPOWER AT-RISK YOUTH IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADVANCEMENT IN DANCE EDUCATION AND PERFORMANCES, AS WELL AS PROVIDE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS WHICH ARE FREE TO THE PUBLIC.

HOMESTEAD YOUTH ARTS CENTER (HYAC), IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARAMOUNT DANCE STUDIOS, HAS BEEN THE PREDOMINANT PROVIDER OF SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCHOOL-AGED STUDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY, SERVING OVER 75 STUDENTS IN OUR DANCE PROGRAM, GIVING OUR STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND SIX COMPETITIONS A YEAR, TWO 3-DAY EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND WEEKLY DANCE CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR TO ENSURE INDIVIDUAL GROWTH AND ACHIEVEMENT. PCDT REACHED APPROXIMATELY 2,800 PEOPLE IN THE HOMESTEAD AND FLORIDA CITY COMMUNITIES THROUGH 2 OUTREACH PROGRAMS THAT WERE FREE TO THE PUBLIC, BRINGING AWARENESS TO THE COMMUNITY ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF DANCE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS THAT NURTURE THE INTEGRITY, HEALTH, AND WELFARE OF OUR AT-RISK YOUTH.
