BSBJ'S WORK IN 2020 BUILT ON THE INCREMENTAL MOMENTUM THAT EMERGED IN 2019 FOR ADVANCING STATE FUNDING AND POLICIES IN PUBLIC EDUCATION AND INCLUDED: - SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES TO INCREASE STATE FUNDING OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS, TEACHER PAY, AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION; TO PREVENT THE DIVERSION OF STATE FUNDS TO PRIVATE SCHOOLS; AND TO ADVANCE PUBLIC POLICIES THAT IMPROVE AND ENLARGE EQUITABLE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN MISSISSIPPI PUBLIC SCHOOLS. - SUPPORTING AN ACTIVE COMMUNICATIONS HUB TO PROVIDE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND COMMUNITY LEADERS WITH A MORE FREQUENT FLOW OF RELIABLE INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS ON EDUCATION ISSUES.
