COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OPENED A HAITIAN GOVERNMENT CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS IN CROIX DE BOUQUETS, HAITI OPENED A SATELLITE PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL IN REMOTE VILLAGE OF COTIN, HAITI ESTABLISHED COMMITTEE OF ALL WOMEN TO ASSESS THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE DIRECTION FOR THOSE THINGS NEEDED MOST PROVIDED EMPLOYMENT FOR 26 HAITIANS TO CARRY OUT ALL PROJECTS. THESE JOBS INCLUDE TEACHERS, NURSES, COOKS, SECRETARIES, BOOKKEEPING ETC. ESTABLISHED COMMUNITY GARDEN IN CROIX DE BOUQUETS DEVELOPED PLAN FOR REUNIFICATION OF 38 ORPHANAGE CHILDREN WITH THEIR FAMILIES. 14 CHILDREN WERE REUNIFIED WITH FAMILIES. 23 CHILDREN ARE LEFT. PLAN ALSO INCLUDES PURCHASING LAND AND BUILDING 11 HOUSES FOR FAMILIES TO LIVE. PLAN WAS APPROVED BY HAITIAN GOVERNMENT BRANCH IBESR.
EDUCATION AWARDED 270 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS GRADES K-UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL FOR OVER 200 WOMEN AND GIRLS IN COOKING, PASTRY, SEWING, COSMETOLOGY AND FLORAL ARRANGEMENT. 96% OF PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL STUDENTS GRADUATED AND PASSED STATE REQUIRED EXAM. ALL GRADUATES RECEIVED A CERTIFICATE FOR EMPLOYMENT.
HEALTHCARE AND NUTRITION 100 HEALTH OFFICERS TRAINED AND CERTIFIED IN VITAL SIGNS, GLUCOSE TESTING, INFECTIOUS DISEASE, DOSING AND FIRST AID. COMMUNITY HEALTHCARE CLINICS WERE HELD AND OVER 200 CHILDREN UP TO 5 YEARS OLD IN 3 DIFFERENT COMMUNITIES WERE VACCINATED FOR YELLOW FEVER, COMMUNITY RESIDENTS WERE PROVIDED THE W.A.S.H. PROGRAM AND MORE THAN 35 ADULTS WERE TREATED FOR OTHER ILLNESSES. MEDICAL CARE WAS PROVIDED TO 43 CHILDREN SUFFERING FROM EITHER TUBERCULOSIS, YELLOW FEVER, HIV, ASTHMA, AND PNEUMONIA PROVIDED NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS AND SPECIAL FOOD TO AT RISK CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
