Part 3 - Line 4a
IN FY 2022, TRAILS UTAH WAS BUSY EXECUTING ON ALMOST A DOZEN DIFFERENT PROJECTS. THE MAYFLOWER LOOP TRAIL PROJECT, PARLEYS POINT OF THE BONNEVILLE SHORELINE TRAIL, AND THE RATTLESNAKE TRAIL WERE ALL COMPLETED IN EITHER 2021 OR 2022 AND CLOSED OUT IN 2022. FUNDING FOR A NUMBER OF PROJECTS WAS SECURED THROUGH THE AWARD OF GRANT MONIES, BOTH STATE GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE FOUNDATION GRANTS IN 2022, FOR PROJECTS THAT ARE GETTING UNDERWAY IN 2023. THOSE PROJECTS INCLUDE THE AXS PROJECT, THE PAIUTE TRAIL PHASE II, AND THE LAVERKIN RIM TO RIVER TRAIL. THROUGHOUT 2022 WE CONTINUED TO WORK WITH THE MUNICIPALITY OF HERRIMAN CITY TO REALIZE ANOTHER MILE-LONG SECTION OF THE BONNEVILLE SHORELINE TRAIL THAT WE ARE HOPING TO START IN THE FALL OF 2023. IN 2022 WE SECURED GRANT MONEY FOR THREE PHASES OF THE SPRING HOLLOW TRAIL SYSTEM, PART OF THE LARGER PINE VALLEY RANGER DISTRICT MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS INITIATIVE. DUE TO A CHANGE IN THE SCOPE OF WORK AND TIMING BY THE USFS CONSTRUCTION ON THIS PROJECT WAS SUSPENDED IN LATE 2022. WE ARE CONTINUING TO WORK WITH WASHINGTON COUNTY, A MAJOR FUNDER ON THE PROJECT, AND THE USFS TO SEE THAT SOME KIND OF MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL NETWORK GETS BUILT IN THAT AREA. IN FY 2022, WE MADE GREAT STRIDES IN ADVANCING OUR OUTREACH TO PEOPLE AROUND THE STATE IMPROVING ON OUR DONOR NUMBERS AND SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE. THROUGH LINKEDIN, INSTAGRAM, AND FACEBOOK WE HAD A TOTAL INCREASE OF TRAFFIC BY ALMOST 250%. WE HAD A 64% INCREASE IN PEOPLE RECEIVING OUR NEWSLETTER, 64% INCREASE IN VISITS TO OUR WEBSITE, AND 164% INCREASE IN OUR MEMBERSHIP. OUR GRANT AWARDS INCREASED BY 22%, INDIVIDUAL DONORS INCREASED BY 51% AND OUR CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP INCREASED BY 176%. WE HIRED A MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR IN 2022 WHICH HAS HELPED PROPEL THESE NUMBERS UPWARD. WE ARE LOOKING TO AN EVEN BETTER YEAR IN FY 2023.
