Part 3 - Line 4a

TO PROVIDE GRANTS, FUNDRAISING, AND ENCOURAGING NEW VOLUNTEERISM IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL CHARITIES. THE FOUNDTAION WILL FOCUS ITS SUPPORT ON EDUCATION AND HUMAN SERVICES. ITS EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS WILL INITIALLY BE FOCUSED ON GRANT-MAKING TO ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT, OR ARE A PART OF PUBLIC EDUCATION IN COLORADO, INCLUDING GRANTS TO FUND SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION, AND SUPPORT OF EXCITING AND EMERGING PROGRAMS IN PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS NOT FUNDED BY THE DISTRICTS, AS WELL AS ON IMPROVING FINANCIAL LITERACY THROUGH FINANCIAL SUPPORT OF PUBLIC PROGRAMS AND NONPROFIT INITIATIVES TO REDUCE FINANCIAL ILLITERACY. THE FOUNDATION'S HUMAN SERVICE EFFORTS WILL INITIALLY BE FOCUSED ON ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS THAT MEET BASIC HEALTH, WELFARE, AND OTHER NEEDS OF THE POOR, SICK, OR ELDERLY IN COMMUNITIES IN COLORADO, INCLUDING GRANTS TO PUBLIC SECTOR EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM EMERGENCY FUNDS.
