Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

OGLALA PET PROJECT HAD ANOTHER GREAT YEAR IN 2021. THROUGH OUR PROGRAM OF REHOMING OR NETWORKING OF ABANDONED, ABUSED OR UNWANTED PETS, WE TOOK IN 110 ANIMALS AND ADOPTED OUT 51 ANIMALS. WE ALSO TRANSFERRED 50 ANIMALS OUT TO PARTNERING RESCUES WHICH WERE ADOPTED OUT THROUGH THEIR PROGRAMS. WE HAD 1 ANIMAL THAT WAS RELOCATED TO ANOTHER HOME FOR TRAP/RELEASE REQUESTS AND RETURNED 1 TO THE OWNER. WE ALSO HELP PROVIDE COMMUNITY MEMBERS WITH A COUPLE OF OPTIONS REGARDING SPAY/NEUTER. FIRST OPTION IS THAT WE PROVIDE SPAY/NEUTER CLINICS IN KYLE, LOCATED ON THE RESERVATION, DURING SCHEDULED DATES AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS CAN BRING IN THEIR ANIMAL(S) FOR FREE TO HAVE THEIR ANIMAL FIXED. OR THE SECOND OPTION IS IF WE DO NOT HAVE A SCHEDULED CLINIC WE WILL HAVE THE OWNER TAKE THE ANIMAL TO ONE OF OUR PARTNERING VETS AND WE WILL PAY FOR IT TO BE FIXED AND ASK THE COMMUNITY MEMBER FOR A DONATION TOWARDS THE COST OF THAT SPAY/NEUTER. THROUGH THIS PROGRAM WE WERE ABLE TO SPAY/NEUTER 123 DOG/CATS. WE ALSO PROVIDED MEDICATIONS DURING THIS CLINIC TO 267 ANIMALS TO HELP CONTROL VARIOUS DISEASES AS WELL AS KEEPING THE ANIMALS HEALTHY. WE ALSO PROVIDE MEDICATIONS FOR DOGS/CATS FOR VARIOUS DISEASES SUCH AS PARVO/DISTEMPER, FELINE DISTEMPER, RABIES, DEWORMER AND MANGE TREATMENT JUST TO NAME A FEW. WE TREATED 1,002 ANIMALS ON THE RESERVATION. WE ALSO HAVE PROVIDED DOG/CAT FOOD TO THE COMMUNITY MEMBERS UNDER THIS PROGRAM AS WELL. WE ARE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE PARTNERED WITH THE LOCAL CHARITIES WHO HAVE DONATED DOG/CAT FOOD TO US WHICH ENABLED US TO FEED 549 ANIMALS AT NO CHARGE TO THIS PORTION.
