KOINONIA PROVIDES HOLISTIC CARE BODY, MIND AND SPIRIT - TO PATIENTS IN NEW YORKS CAPITAL REGION. ANNUALLY, IT SERVES AROUND 1,800 PATIENTS AT MORE THAN 8000 VISITS. ITS PARTICULAR FOCUS IS THE WEST HILL AND ARBOR HILL NEIGHBORHOODS OF ALBANY, WHICH ARE AMONG THE MOST UNDERSERVED AREAS IN THE REGION. TO FURTHER SUPPORT THIS COMMUNITY AND ADDRESS THE SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH NEEDS THAT OCCUR THERE KOINONIA HOLDS OUTREACH ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING HOLDING A SUMMER CAMP, COMMUNITY BARBEQUES AND HOLIDAY PARTIES. KOINONIA ALSO PROVIDES SPACE TO OTHER COMMUNITY-SERVING ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING LOCAL CHURCHES, OTHER LOCAL NON-PROFITS AND NARCOTICS ANONYMOUS.
